Hi guys...I am going to give you one of my past website experiences. You tell me who was in the wrong :D...

Around a year ago I had a great plan to start up a warez site...'epicwarez.net' I asked around and found out that unless the host allows warez and porn it would make it legal for me to open a warez site. So I found a hosting company that advertised that if you pay a mere $10 a mo..Porn will be aloud. I sent them a question stating if I pay the extra $10 a mo would warez be legal? The person said it would make it legal. So I quickly payed the money and opened up the site. After around 4 days and 150+ members...The site was deleted. I quickly sent them a email asking why they did this. They replyed bakc saying "Warez on our servers it ILLEGAL. We have the right to sue you for every penny you have". I quickyl responded to them and said I was told by a worker that warez was legal. After around 1 day they didn't respond..All of the sudden I got a unknown phone number on my mobile phone(cell phone). It was them...After around 1 hour of talking on the phone to them and explaining they came to the cocclusion that they wont sue me...although I could not get a refund. So I lost around $350+.....I didn't have evidence that I was told that warez was legal..

    Did I mess up?

You mess up on quite a few issues.

    1. Warez is illegal, no one can tell you it is legal
    2. Warez hosting may be allowed by some hosting company but it is always safe to keep a black and white of what the accounts executive said when you signed up.
    3. Depending on the TOS, the hosting company may be able to sue for damages.

It is painful lesson learnt for a few hundred dollars. I would strongly suggest using other ways to earn money online as a webmaster, try to follow the legit path.

I am very glad to hear that! Who knows you will be the next DP of Tech Forums in the next few years? Keep up the good work!

Whatever is over is over, just take it as a lesson, a few hundred dollars for a lesson is fees well paid; honestly speaking!

You should have used a more popular hosting service. Besides, warez is illegal and how could they tell you that it's legal?
