I signed up for ePassporte and now they need a deposit of 25$ for activation or verification is this a fee ? or i will have them available in my account after that ? did anyone face any trouble with their real visa electron card which allows withdrawal at ATM ? Thanks in advance for your help tips and feedbacks about ePassporte are welcomed
https://www.epassporte.com/secure/jsp/PersonalAccounts.jsp#Personal It is not a fee but it is the initial fees in your account. I have never had trouble withdrawing the funds from the VISA Electron Card, it works on any ATM machine which supports VISA or Plus. Of course, you need to ensure that you have sufficient funds.
Just a question eddy,, do we need to pay anything to get their visa electorn (Debit card). I'll be reading FAQs but I am a bit lazy PS: I know there is a 35$ anual fee (just read from the link you posted above )
They offer two options, the Virtual Visa or Electron Card + Virtual Visa. The Virtual Visa is free for the first year and then $5 for the subsequent year deducted from your balance. For the Electron Card, it is $35 per year. That's pretty much it.
Thanks for the reply, i've another question now which is the funds will be in USD, can i withdraw with their Electron Card from any country using any local currency ? (putting currency conversion rates in mind) I've Visa electron card included with my bank account with my local currency (EGP) and i use it already but didn't try it outside my country before
Thanks Ed for replying. 35$ yearly fee is really too much. I don't think I'll be thinking to use Epassporte for a while. Will be investigating though I guess you can. AS it is an ATM card so you can withdraw money in yur local currency.
Yes, the funds are in USD but when you withdraw from a non-US ATM machine, the bank which owns the ATM machine will do the conversion to the local currency. Remember that the ATM machine can only dispense local currency.
The other option is Payoneer (http://www.payoneer.com) they issue Debit Mastercard and they allow your customers to pay you via credit cards (Mastercard and VISA) at the 3.5% charge which is quite neat.
Ok so essentially it's free to create the accounts because that $5 is for the purposes of putting money onto each gift account CC right? Do you know if unused amounts on those gift accounts can be recovered or are they stuck in those gift accounts?
You will need to have to get the account holder to refund you the money or else it will be stuck with the gift account.
Well I'll be using whatever gift accounts I create. How do you refund all or part of the $5 back into my account?
You can't refund but you can send payment to another epassporte account at the rate of $0.25 per transfer.
Ok I see, so I can transfer whatever unused money from any gift account to another epassporte account. Btw thanks for all the info.
eddy2099: Since everyone is asking you questions, please answer mine too. I am with Plimus (as you are). Is it good to get their VISA card. Will I be able to open paypal account with that card? (I am in non Paypal supporting country).
Well, the Payoneer Debit Card offered by Plimus works as a VISA Card online and off-line and unlike the ePassporte Card, it is a single number card issued by a US Bank. The other thing is that the Name and Card Details are embossed which makes it more accepted in the stores. The Payoneer Debit Card works with Paypal but I would not recommend you start a Paypal account if your country is not support. The Debit Card is one issue but the other thing is that your IP address will be a telltale sign that you are not from a supported country and that would inevitably get your account frozen. I would never recommend using any Debit Card (Virtual or Physical) as your primary card as if anything happens, Paypal may require you to fax physical credit card statements which a Debit Card would not have.
@eddy2099: I am glad you are online. I am not a person to go illegal (in most cases). If paypal does not support me fine with it. I have been using 2co for like 4 years now and have signed up with plimus. They will accept paypal payments on my behalf if some client wishes to pay via paypal (this lead me to another question which I will ask in end of this message). But there are times that I am forced to think of having a paypal account for backup. In some cases, I want to purchase something and the buyer only accept paypal (and many occassions like this). You wont believe I have to beg for my friends in US to pay for $10 to someone on my behalf. This has forced me into the thinking of getting a paypal account which I can use in case I am left with no room to make petty transactions. So can you guide me in that. I can see that I can do this by making a paypal account of any country and then trying to verify it with VCC. What do you think about this. Regarding plimus, a client says he has paid via paypal through plimus but I havent recived any notification from Plimus of the sale. Did you have such similar experience with Plimus?
Actually, with Plimus, in the email Sales Notification, you will not know if the person pays by Paypal. Only if you go to Plimus website and check the Plimus Sales Report and check the details for that transaction that you will know how they paid. I just got one sales which the buyer paid by Paypal and it reads *Update : I just realized that since today, Plimus does include 'Payment Type' in the email notification, I have one sales today with this pasted in the email notification In any case, in Plimus, you can check for all 'Unclosed Sales' if the customer decides not to continue with the transaction or that it failed. Well, I supposed if the purpose is to pay someone then maybe it makes sense but I would not recommend creating a Paypal account with fake identification because Paypal is not stupid and they do track IP address and if they find something which is not accurate, they may limit your account and ask you to proof that you stay in that address. Besides, if you do collect funds through Paypal, how would you withdraw the money since it will have to go to a bank account of that country you signed up with or a check to that address. I would think finding an alternative means of payment would be more appropriate. Don't do anything illegal and it would inevitably bite you in the butt. To bring it further, the last time I offered Plimus and Paypal payment options but found that doing so is a pain and although I get a few sales through Paypal, the number is not worth the effort. You might be asking the wrong person about VCC because I am totally against the idea of using VCC because although it may work to fool the Paypal system to verify your account, the VCC is an unverified tool which is like using a fake Passport or a fake ID. That is primarily why now I stopped using my Paypal account to accept payment because now you cannot trust the Paypal verified status is anymore.
