So I spent some time learning about entrecard.com. I added it to my site and decided to see how much traffic it could generate. For the first few days of using it, I found that it can generate a bit targeted traffic and a lot of useless traffic. For a new blog, even the small amount of targeted traffic is valuable. Getting the first visitors and subscribers is a difficult task, but EntreCard.com certainly helps with this. For well-established blogs with a steady traffic source it is quite a bit of work for little pay off. I would not recommend this service if your blog is established! Absolutely, high quality original content is the key to any blogs success. But when a blog is new, it is important to get a steady source of initial visitors!
Entrecard has increased my daily pageviews. However, this traffic usually is for visiting only and most of your visitors are not really interested with your posts. They simply visit to be visited back. Search engine traffic is still the best.
I'm sorry but entrecard is a hell of a crap with the lowest quality visitors... imagine people visiting your site just to drop.. what a waste of bandwidth
most of the traffic comes from the noobs as the above people have said.they just want to do some time pass
Entercard can be used for new blogs at least, their is change of exposure of your blog to all those unknown people. But there is much less changes of those people returning back to your site
I am also against all the widgets. I do not have a blog, but I don't like seeing them on other blogs.
Do you mean cmfads or what? I dont know which is more useless, using entrecard or some kinds of traffic exchange with frame based.
It all depends on how you plan to use it.If you are hoping to get many regular readers that could be a bit hard to achieve since the bounce rate is really high however you will still be able to attract a few new people and since we are talking about a newly established blog thats a start too.You could also use the credits you earn to purchase stuff and services in the market like social bookmarkings,directory submissions,blogroll links and ads on other blogs so if you are short on cash and want to do some blog promotion EC is the way to go
