Enticing Readers to Leave Comments

I get decent traffic to m blog, but very few comments (if any) except from family and close friends. Any good strategies for convincing readers to post comments and not just read and leave?

 

Ya hold a contest for the top poster and give something out to the winner...

 

Make posts that ask questions of the readers or are controversial in some manner.

 

I agree...controversy always stems lots of comments...

For example on this post a guy was unhappy because I wouldnt write an article for them and then when they threatened my life I wrote an article about his company but it wasnt a good one.

Its not the kind of comments you are looking for probably, but nevertheless, its comments...

Use a Top Commenter Plugin.

 

There are many ways to make visitors leave comment on your blogs.

1. End your post by raising some questions for the readers, for triggering the comment trail.
2. Reward top commentators.
3. Comment on other blogs of similar niche.
4. Make it easy for readers to post a comment.
5. Use popular comment plugins for your blogging platform.
