Enmar's Clickbank Journal

Well since it's all the rage, I'm going to start my Clickbank journal as well. I'm going to document this in a blog, but not just yet, so for now it'll be on this forum. I'll be saying exactly what I'm doing on my venture to make some money, but I won't be going into niche specifics for, well, obvious reasons. At some point during this journey if I meet success, I'll compile what I've learned and implemented into an ebook which I'll probably give out for free.

    Background
Alright, well, I'm from New Hampshire in the northeast United States. I had my first go at some internet marketing in early June 2008 which I stayed pretty focused on until mid-July 2008. I was almost purely bum marketing, besides the $9.00 I paid a month for hosting. I ended up banking around $1200 at the end, and I just got too lazy too continue. I liked my niche though, and although my major product I was selling was only netting $13/sale, the niche was new and there wasn't a lot of competition. I also felt comfortable in the niche, knowing I could write about (or BS) my articles (of which I wrote just 12).

This time around I'm going into more established niches that will be hard to compete in, but I will give it a go. I've done some keyword research for one of my niches, the one I'll be starting first.

    Day 0
Well, technically this would be Day 1, but since the day isn't near over and I'm writing already, this will be the pre-venture post with what I plan to do for today.

Alright, so right now I've got two niches I'm interested in, and they're fairly competitive. I'll be focusing on one for now but I'll start developing the other (which, truly I know more about) at a later point in time.

I design and code my own sites, so today I'm planning on finishing up my lander for my niche, which has multiple products. I'm in Photoshop designing it now, and I'm going for a simple, clean layout. I'm planning for 2 content pages at the moment from which I'll base my site:

    1) A home page with a "featured product spotlight"
    2) A reviews page with ratings for the variety of products in this niche (links to each of my own reviews on separate pages)

I'll either be sending the traffic to the list of all the products with my ratings, or a separate review page I target it to.

    and I'm off!

Well when you start your bum marketing again remember that the rule of thumb is "quantity over quality". Get the numbers first and the cash will follow.

On top of that you might want to hire content writers to do it for you. I don't have any connections but supposedlely you can get writers with perfect english overseas to write you an article for ezine at $1.50. You might want to look into it.

I'll take your guys advice and check around for some cheap content writers when the time comes. Thanks for the tips.

    Day 1 - June 26
Well honestly I didn't get much done on day 1. I was busy for a bit of the day but I managed to make some progress on my designing/coding process (which I should finish up today hopefully), and I picked the domains I would be using. I set up a general concept of ideas on how I'd be getting traffic to my site. I plan on using Lemonarian's LinkWheel concept (or something along the lines of it), article marketing with Ezine and other directories, and this interesting method I found on NicheChoppers posted by AJ Howell that revolves around ping.fm. These methods of course are among others that I'm sure will come up.

Today I plan to hopefully finish up this design and coding, but I'm also taking a look through the products I'll be selling so I can efficiently and honestly rate them from the user's/buyer's perspective.

    I best get going.

    >I've decided that I'll add a bit of a counter so you guys can see my progress so...

    Day: 2
    Sites Active: 0
    Gross Sales: 0
    Net Sales: 0
    Gross Income (USD): $0
    Net Income (USD): $0

Looking good! Haha. Hopefully I'll see some results once I get 'er running.

    Day 2 - June 27th
Well my aunt decided to show up today and I'm not quite sure how long she'll be staying. This, unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective, takes away from my time at the computer, and thus the time I can spend marketing, or, well, attempting to.

I've got my design done, I've coded most of it, and it's almost ready to go. Can't quite say when that'll be but I'll provide updates.

After thinking about it I've realized that the niche I'm attempting to go into now is a lot more competitive than my last niche. I've been searching for keywords, I've picked a few, but most have a lot of competition. Luckily I have another backup niche if this one doesn't go too swell.

Hey good luck with your endeavor. Set obtainable daily goals to help yourself along!

Also, sorry to be off topic, I was wondering how many articles you wrong in that month to bring in your $1200
that's a nice chunk of change!

@Josh I wrote just 11 articles total during that time but only 9 for the niche I was truly promoting. Not a big number there but somehow I kept my rank in the SERPS.

    Day 2- June 28th
Well, family's still here, I'm trying to sneak it what small amounts of time I can to finish some bits of coding up, and that's not a lot. I've yet to write the majority of the content but I will hopefully finish the coding part entirely tonight (the 29th) as most of them are tired and are heading to bed although it's just 9:00.

Keep up the work - sure it will pay off in the end.

Are you purely writing and submitting or backlinking etc?
