English to Spanish content considered duplicate to Google??

If I translate a thread from English to Spanish (translated from altavista or elsewhere), is this considered duplicate content if the english was taken from *another* site or even MY own!?

 

nope. its funny you should ask because Google answered on their Webmaster Central blog exactly what you ask. It is NOT duplicate content.
