I don't think that phraseology would go over very well in most cases. If someone wants to know my name, they should ask. There is NO need to beat around the bush keeping me guessing as to what they want. I run a business and I do NOT have time for games. Nor do I have time for dancing around the bush waiting for a direct question. I should NOT need to GUESS what they want to know. When I am forced to guess, I often guess WRONG!
Indians speak good English, Some might not be fluent tho, but Asians like chinese, japanese aren't the best
