Well practice speaking in different accents. For the kind of dialect you belong to, it may not be easy, but its definitely not hard either. A 3 month effort would surely pay off. Go attend some spoken english classes, or try to copy the accent of the BBC Newscasters. I can speak English in 5 Accents :), and I am also a Pakistan National. Just practice ok. Or stick to other jobs.

the main purpose of these calls is business, right? So, you have to polish your business English and there are lots of sites and sources for that. But! If you really want to get approved by a company I wouldn't risk it and hire someone, and I would definitely keep working on improving my conversational skills.

Same experience. I've been on the phone with some non-English speaking people and had to ask them to send an instant message instead because I couldn't understand their speaking. It's something about seeing the words that helps them come out better.

Yeah just call him up, I don't really think they'll mind if you can't speak English very well.

I mean c'mon, English is my native language and I butcher it on a daily basis.
But as most people have said, if you are indeed worried about it then practice.

I like the idea of trying to speak in different accents.

Learning to speak any language is all about losing your shyness and fear of making mistakes. If any of your friends speaks good English, practice speaking with him. Listen to news in English, and make sure you take up a course of spoken English at a local institute.

Like others have suggested, listen to others speaking in english and try to imitate their accent. You can probably find a tool online which you type in words and it'll read them back to you.
