Now let's see again: 1) Carvalho and the other guy foul Rooney 2) Rooney, because he was fouled, looses his balance and so happens to stand on Carvalho's sausage and Swedish meat balls - turning it into mash and peas. 3) Etc. rest is history...
They also didn't think Ronaldo was playing fair as they didn't give him the yourg player award for unsportsman like conduct.
Well, many say the ref should've blown because Rooney was quite clearly being fowled. Rooney then, probably intentionally fowled Carvalho - that's fact. The point, is that the ref wasn't about to issue a card until Ronaldo ran over and started claiming it was a card: 1. Ronaldo is Rooneys team mate at ManU - you don't do that to team mates. Do not say that any player would appeal in the same circumstances because they wouldn't. 2. You don't do that to referees, Ronaldo ran up to the referee put pressure on him so he would give a card, this doesn't usually happen in the English Premier League (as it has been stamped down upon) and it isn't allowed in the World Cup. 3. The 'wink' and smirk towards the bench right after the incident suggests that it was premeditated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqC3NE7TYVE&search=Rooney Ronaldo is cheating scum, it was nice to see that everyone realised it at the end of the competition when Ronaldo was jumping around everywhere. Some of the dives in the penalty areas he was trying to pull off are the worst I've seen in years - he jumps through defenders without being touched anywhere.
I'm not just blaming Ronaldo, (but he did take things further than a lot of players) The real problem lies with FIFA. Before the world cup they said they would crack down on diving, though I've yet to see ANY evidence of it. Once players realise they're not going to get booked they'll do it again and again. Even if they don't get a free kick, as long as they don't get booked then they haven't lost anything. If only the referees grew some balls and started to book players for it it would all stop. Or even if after a game a yellow card could be awarded for obvious dives. I hate England players doing it, though even now it's not as much as most other teams. I wouldn't blame them anymore if they did start to do it. If only Rooney had dived when he was being hacked at by the Porugeese players he'd have got a free kick instead of being sent off. Henry was the same in the Cjampions league final, he was bing kicked up in the air by the Barcelona defenders, didn't go down once, didn't get any free kicks. Maybe he should have gone down easily and got the free kicks.
Nice pic but if you were to run a poll on the BBC's site asking: Who's to blame for England's exit: 1) England 2) Other than the above I am sure no intelligent person in their right mind will say anything other than we blamed it on ourselves... We like moaning and repeating stuff endlessly, but we know why we went out... Deep inside.
OK that's what they would say, but they'd still know it's not true. If it was true, it woud have been pathetic - one cry baby being able to bring our whole team's dream to pieces. No way jose!
I wonder if it was Beckham acting like a cry baby after substitution that brought the whole team down...
I don't like Becks, and I was glad he stepped down as el capitan. Also hope he looses his spot to Lennon and other people who are willing to give all that's required and don't take things for granted.
I don't think so, everyone knows England played crap and didn't deserve to win it. Doesn't change the fact Ronaldo is a cheating cock though.
