I don't think it was the stamp he was sent off for, look at this,

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylMqeyMgsxs&search=ronaldo

The referee did nothing until the push, then he took action.

Also at the end of the video you can see the wink. He knew exactly what he was doing. He's been trying to wind up Rooney since the start of the game, even headbutting Rooney, but your players seem to do that quite a lot and not get punished for it.

    Read it here
"I also went to the referee to speak and he was 100 percent sure it was a red card. He told me he hit the other player and where he was hit so I can't complain about that."

Do you still think it was Ronaldo fault?

    Headbutt that?? COMMONNNNN!!!! LOL

Yes, Ronaldo didn't need to be there. He did what most of the Portuguese players do when one of them gets fouled, runs up to the referee and tries to get the opposition player sent off.
Clever tactics maybe, bad sportsmanship definately.

I'm with Matt on this one. Maybe he would have got red for stamping on that guy but why did Ronaldo have to stick his nose in? If the ref had already seen it, which he did seeing as it was right in front of him - It had f*ck all to do with Ronaldo. He winds players up knowing they'll react - Hell he plays for the same team as Rooney in England - He knows Rooney has a temper problem. Ronaldo is too cocky for his own good. He has his head so far up every ref's arse.

Did anyone see the clip, at the end he goes up to Rooney and headbuts him. Tell me he's not trying deliberately to wind him up?

Ronaldo apparently told rooney before the game that he would get him sent off and even headbutted him in the tunnel. Rooney is saying he will never play with Ronaldo again so it looks like the rapist scum is going to leave for Madrid as soon as possible.

Probably for the best - he would get absolutely slated in the premiership. Even more than normal.

If the girl says no, molest her Ron.....ald.....o

You guys are missing a big detail here...

    YOUR PLAYER STAMPED R. CARVALHO!!
Do you guys defend criminals? Ok, not so good as an example, but you know what i mean...

Just because they're play for the same team, that doesn't mean that temperamental Rooney could kick every single portuguese!
Probably that's what you guys would want but the blaming Ronald and the referee is...I don't know, some really lousy excuse for loosing this game.

You should be happy, played very well with 10 men. Hang on until the penaltys and had bad luck we have Ricardo...
Bad for you, good for us...

    THE END! ;)

Ronaldo was already the most hated premiership player (not just because he played for United) and this just cements it.

I'm not defending Rooney, he was an idiot. It still doesn't excuse cheating.

It would only be cheating IMO if the referee didn't saw the stamp and Ronaldo went there trying to tell him what he saw...
Even so that would not be cheating, your play DID stamp R Carvalho, he had NO EXCUSE for staying in the game! Don't try to blame it on Ronaldo, it's not worth it...
Diving is cheating! I agree with that...Ronaldo dived a couple of times this game. The referee didn't gave him any foul...No harm done!
BTW: The referee saw the hole thing remember...;)

So Ronaldo should have been sent off for his headbut too?

Yes the referee saw the stamp, he was right in front of it. Though you can see from the replay he wasn't going to do anything. Then Ronaldo come over crying and showing yellow cards. Gets pushed and the referee adds the incidents together and shows the red card. To the letter of the law he was correct.

However it's still caused by Ronaldo getting invloved in the first place. Trying to get opposition players sent off and generally being an all round cheat.

    What headbutt????
He was teasing Rooney when he was talking with Pauleta...Pauleta smiles after that, for sure that Ronaldo told him something in a good mood...
You're english mate, i feel your pissed but at least try to see the things like they happened...
BTW: The game hasn't even started!

You keep insisting about the Ronaldo part even after that Fifa link i left here??
Ok i rest my case with you...
Have no time to lose with someone that doesn't want to see...

Keep seeing only what you want mate, not going to bother arguing with you again and again, it's not worth it...

Better luck in the Euro 2008, i'm done here for today...;)

PS: I don't have anything against any english fan or England team, i just hate your media that's all...

The headbut in the video? If it was friendly then why has Rooney said he'll never play in the same team as Ronaldo ever again. Doesn't sound very friendly to me.

Would you like if a friend of yours go tell the police that you stole a candy from a shop?
Even if you did, you probably would not see him as a friend again...

    Good example? ;)

Ronaldo attitude was morally correct, friendly incorrect...

If you guys have an issue with Ronaldo than that's one thing but trying to blame him for Rooney being sent off is really another. Ronaldo did what every other player does, go talk to the ref..so what??

It's not even morrally correct, it's up to the referee to make a decision. If he misses it its dealt with after the game by FIFA. It's pretty low of a player to try to get another sent off, team mate or not.

It's called justice...Sometimes it happens against your will!

PS: You know that the english and literally every player do the same thing when they see an agression or something like that...

    Want an example?
What did the english players did when Beckham makes a cross inside the box and it hits Nuno Valente hand? That was a meter away from him?
You know that Nuno Valente had no intention, the referee knows it, everybody knows it, he was too close to Beckham even to THINK on putting his arm to cut the ball but what did english players did?
Arm waiving...Yeah, that's what you call it...;)
I recall the hole stadium english fans complaining too...Wanna talk about that? Or you just talk about Ronaldo that saw an agression...

Repeating myself...Try...At least try to be neutral!!

HIS TEAMMATE GOT HIS BALLS BASHED IN!

I would be pissed too! There's no place on the field for someone who does that.

It's just not something you should have to worry about. It's about the dirtiest move I can think of.
