Hello All, This is my first post at this forum. I have known about Azoogle for a few years now. At first, I was a newbie, and I didn't have much luck driving conversions. The person who introduced me to Azoogle was using basically spam email techniques, which I had no desire to do. However, I recently have decided to go back and try my hand at promoting Azoogle with PPC, article marketing, and SEO techniques. I have noticed in some of the offers I would like to promote, the verbiage "search not permitted", which I take to mean no PPC. This seems a little strange to me, since so many marketers drive traffic with PPC. My question is, is this rule enforced to the letter, or is there any flexibility with certain offers and affiliate managers? I am wondering if they actually track it closely, or perhaps look the other way if the publisher is driving a healthy share of conversions? Also, would it be wise to request permission to promote those offers with search (PPC) or would that just get blown out of the water? Thanks in advance for your comments. Dou9las
if search isn't permitted, then i wouldn't do it. would assume it means that the advertiser is putting a ton of $$ into search efforts and doesn't want it cluttered with affiliate SEO attempts. You'd get blown out by Azoogle if you tried it IMHO.
Don't do it without asking first And you'd be surprised how often you are told that it's okay. If your AM does tell you that it's okay, get it in an email so that you have hard evidence if you ever need to defend yourself in the future.
Well, I did ask the AM, and he said he asked on my behalf and advertiser would not permit it. However, Poweremploy's suggestion is exactly what I want to do: I just assumed "no search permitted" applied to this scenario. If all they mean is "no direct search" to the affiliate link, I am fine with that since I prefer to create my own landing pages. Not to question Poweremploy's expertise here, but does everyone concur on what is, or is not, permitted under this rule? BTW, when I emailed the AM, I simply asked if I could get permission to use search, without going into any detail about creating my own landing page....
No search means you can't use ppc to direct traffic to your landing page. I tried it once and was caught within a week or two.
Yeah, I kind of figured that, I guess I was hanging on to pie in the sky fantasy that somehow I could get away with it. Thanks for the confirmation. Cool avatar you have there BTW.
