So I usually have my dad pick up an energy drink like an Amp, Rockstar or Monster from Hannaford in the afternoon but today he said that there werent any. Also, I saw a little while ago an article that said a bill that would make it 'illegal' to sell a high caffeine drink to anyone under 18. Now I didn't think this bill would pass but...

So, what do you think? Should kids be aloud to drink high caffeine drinks or not? I think they should, what about you?

Of course they should be allowed to, America is supposed to be a free country. Disallowing something like caffeine is ridiculous.

However, they shouldn't do it. American's don't care about their health or debt anymore. 98% of the population is dead or dead broke by the age of 65 you know. Why? Because 2% of the population make debt sound like a good thing, and 98% believe them.

Outlawing caffeine/energy drinks for people under 18 would just be insane. I can see having warning labels on them and regulating them so some baby doesn't get killed drinking one. Doing anything more than that would be the goverment encroaching to far in on our lives.

It's up to the parents as to whether their kids can have stuff like caffiene, not the law.

I really don't see why anyone except the parents should bother about this. Some people like it, others don't

I think what the government should do first is explaining the disadvantage for kids of drinking it.
Then, let people made their own decision. It's a free world.

I feel the caffeine level to be consumed may be left to the discretion of the parents. ;)

This is just ridiculous. The government has absolutely no right whatsoever to tell you what you may or may not ingest. Be it MSG or marijuana or caffeine. Remember the Prohibition? That sure worked.

Silly idea but they are pretty bad for you these energy drinks, plus if you were to really push it you could OD on the caffiene content of some of these higher rated ones.
