I am selling my 6 month old comedy clip site, www.CollegeClown.com

The site and script

The site has amazing potential and the script is worth a pretty sum.
The script was custom coded by a professional company, it is meant to be unique but it has be passed to a few other sites (Not by me). Please read the bottom of this post for an update on this

In essence only a few sites are running this script and it will remain like that, I have had a lot of people contact me asking to sell them a copy but I haven't done it to keep the site as unique as possible.

You can see the user side of the script from the site and I will provide a demo of the admin side to anyone that is seriously interested only.
The admin side of the script can add/edit/disable advertising space on the site, add/edit/remove video clips/add news to the homepage and add links to the partners/cool links sections.

The script makes it very simple and quick to add and edit content throughout the site and is a great asset.

The script could be used for any type of game/video/image site - Take a look and see how robust it really is.

Stats and revenue

I haven't done much to this site at all to be completely honest because I run other large sites that take all my time.

I haven't done ANY promotion what so ever but the site is still receiving an average of over 70 uniques a day - I thought this was pretty amazing as I didn't link to the site anywhere and I hadn't worked on it for a long time.

I have paid people to add over 300 clips to the site which is a huge content boost and is sure to bring a huge amount of traffic.
There are over 400 videos in total in the database - All manually added with screenshots and descriptions.

No idea of revenue from the site..I didn't have it on its own channel because I haven't been able to work on it enough.


About the sale

I am selling this site as I am in urgent need of money to pay towards an anniversary holiday in Feb - I was expected to get money from another site sale but I am still waiting for it to come through and I haven't heard from the winner.

I have sent a C&D to the datacentre the site is hosted in so it will be taken offline shortly.
The coding company has also sent an email to the owner regarding the use of the script.

I only know of one other site that is still running the script and I have issued another C&D to their host.

I believe they are the only sites running the script, I thought there were others but the coding company contacted the sites already and they have been removed.

How did it leak? you must of given it to someone.

 

No I didn't - The site was owned by someone for about 1-2 weeks before me and he resold it to two sites - The company that coded it threatened legal action against him.

 

Why didnt you take legal action?

i wouldnt spend alot of money on a custom script for some lamers to share it with ppl.

edit: i see http://www.bavideos.com is running your script.

 

I simply don't have the time to go through the hassle of legal action - It would take a lot of time and I simply didn't want to deal with that.

How did you find and know that site is running the script?

After seeing the site is does look a lot like it.

I would be a lot more interested in this sale if the script was not leaked.

 

I am contacting all sites illegally running my script and also their host to get their sites taken offline.

The script they are running is an illegal copy of my site and are not allowed to do so, just like they couldn't run an illegal copy of vBulletin for example.

CollegeClown is the only site allowed to run with this script.

I have lowered the BIN to $2000 and I am accepting other offers.

I wouldn't be selling this site after adding the content only for the anniversary holiday.
This site has huge potential to make a lot of revenue and the script is setup to do so, I simply didn't work on it for 4 months after I bought it because I had too much work to do on my other sites.

Even at the BIN price this is a complete bargin considering the size of database and custom script alone.
