A few days ago big G decided to remove the "Search within Results" function . For many this transformed Google into a worthless website .

IMHO Google just shot itself in the foot . If they keep up whit stuff like this they might even loose their market dominance . This mother of all stupid decisions might signal the beginning of a new age in SEO .

    Opinions ?

How many "friendly fire" and "self shot" was in Google's history? Not much...

Google bomb (IMO it was a free advertisement, not a negative effect),
the changing of algorithms, caffeine... etc (it was negative for SEO -s),
Google buzz (it was a mayor f*ck up, but people will forget in time :) )
pagerank stall... also negative for SEO -s, not for users (they do not even know what it means and what for :) )

And lets look for the nice side:

Analytics, web master tools, useful help central forum, a nice pdf about SEO, blogspot, ... etc.

The list goes even more... do you know an other search engine, witch can take the load and beat these all in one? :)
I do not see a reason, why would Google loose its share. A few years and you will not be able to live without Google products. And the core of every product is evolved from a f*cking search engine :D
I would say, keep up the good work Google...

For SEO -s... lets face it, we also have to evolve with Google some time. Maybe tomorrow not the linking will be the best way to get better rankings. We also have to use social media and a lot more processes, than a few years ago. There are even more SEO -s and link builders every year and if you want to be able to live in a rapidly growing market, you have to be more effective in SEO... you can do this, by working in teams and not doing solo work...

    Cheers.

I don't ever recall using it so I don't think it's a big loss - they'd do some research about it, right? Did they announce it was removed and why or has it just disappeared?
