Nothing is going to happen, its just hysteria and people selling books trying to make money on a ridiculous concept.

No one knows...only god knows.. and about 2012 if even it is happen..i think it is not end of the world...end of the world is when everyone in this world die...this is just still small piece of armagedon..
I don't think the end of the world is when everybody dies. I think that's called extermination. The end of the World would be when the whole Universe is destroyed. At least I think so.
I think such stories as created for useless chatter , no one can correctly say when "the end" will come.
World ain't going to end in 2012. So I'll assume 2036 is the next date people will get worried about after 2012 is proven false?

The world will end eventually. Our sun's got only 50,000 years left (which is relatively short time if we consider the age of our planet). No sun = no life by that time humans probably got the hell out of here already... moreover if our population still growing and growing we'll have to find some place else to immigrate even sooner....

This is reported already in Yahoo I think last 2 weeks, well it is said that it is possible to happen but I believe that Russian will do a good job in dealing with this and it will be supported by America in terms of the budget to make the exploration successful. This is already happen in earth way back when the dinosaurs are still alive and no wonder it may happen again.I hope this will not happen, I'm also worried of that asteroid.
It seems that every forum that I belong to has a thread or two that wants to talk about the end of the world. I personally believe that we are in the last days, I am not sold on the 2012 theory but lets look at recent happenings. Haiti is destroyed by severe quakes. There are quakes in the Cayman Islands and Oklahoma. South California is seeing huricane strength winds. Are these signs of the end. It really depends on how you want to view the events. The end of the world is upto the powers that be. This discussion has more to do with religion than science. No place of that here.
