Do you think that if the video is not more embedded but ***simply linked***, it could make of change, in other words be ok with their TOS?
I just finished one and got them clicks for no money. I was wondering why. Now.... screw it. I'm going to put some other ads on it, that will hopefully perform about the same. I developed a new script too... Sux eh?
so the problem is using youtube videos ? ok that makes my videos site that i host it myself in safe !
LOL - can you imagine those servers @youtube? going nuts with all the video sites that were sprouting up. that's what I think they thought about, the costs
Uuuhh, youtube actually hosts the videos and builds a service around viewing them freely. People making web sites consisting only of embedded videos are just using youtube (and their bandwidth) for their own gain, not offering more value, which is rather parasitic. This policy makes sense.
I JUST bought one of these scripts. Great timing huh. I can see why they'd change the TOS and prohibit those types of sites that are really kind of piggybacking off them. It sucks, but it's their service, their bandwidth, their rules. Anyone know if it's ok to use these scripts on existing sites but without ads on the video pages? For example, I have an existing site that I use Google Adsense on. If I put the video script on a subdomain such as videos.mydomain.com but don't put AdSense (or anything else) on the video pages, would it still tick them off enough to cancel Adsense for my entire domain? My main purpose for purchasing one of these scripts is to provide some videos on various topics on-site, without having to go through the process of searching YouTube for videos to embed into articles one-by-one. So I figured I'd buy one of these scripts, strip the templates down to a small row of 3 or 4 videos based on a keyword in the search url, and include them next to content in an iframe or by some sort of server side include.
I just thought about this but my buddy used my youtube video script on his site http://www.srt-videos.com/ and he actually applied for adsense using that site and was accepted. If the site violates their t.o.s. I don't think he would have been approved.
but guys, I think there is one solution. there are lots of video site. then show ads from CPA/CPM as an alternative.
I guess that applies only for sites that display bunch of youtube videos with no other content and generating revenue through this. Whether you display adsense or any other affiliate program, you are violating youtube's TOS. On the other hand youtube does not discourage webmasters from displaying occasional YouTube videos for their site readers, even if general purpose ads are shown in the site.
this is just daft they will index you then other sites will follow lead then you will get removed from google index but still be in all the others that follow googles lead on spidering as long as you do your groundwork and get backlinks and directory listings then just use an alternative advertiser( thats if goole will really ban accounts for this as they will lose money to competitors) and you will still get trafic google isnt the only search engine out there you know (important but not the be all and end all)
Sad thing. Good to know, because i was planning on opening such a website. You've saved me a lot of time and money.
I don't blame Google. I would do the same exact thing. I never knew that people actually built entire websites around embedding nothing but YouTube videos and placing Adsense everywhere. Of course a site like that is garbage. It's just leeching off of YouTube and it's 100%duplicate content. Instead of worrying whether your accounts will be banned and your sites de-indexed, just host your own videos like everyone else does. P.S. - sorry if I sound offensive!
