End of month stat delay?

Discussion in 'Commission Junction' started by alext, Dec 2, 2005.

I am new to CJ and I have been obsessively watching my stats. I have gotten used to seeing updates on the transactions report daily. However I see almost nothing for Dec 1 - almost nothing being defined as <10% compared to the other days of that week. Is it normal to see delays at the end of the month? or occasional hickups?

Also are transaction delays different for different ad sources?

It is the new Ebay reporting... I guess. If Dec 1's income is correct I have a real problem.

Yeah, the winning bids seem like they are about 25% of what they should be.

There is some bitching going on over at the Ebay Aff Forum. Some Ebay person posted and said "Not only is it working as intended, it is actually better than it was before!"

Well whoever said that it's working is wrong. The rev share model IS working (as a whole), but December 1 winning bid data is incorrect (Oct-Nov is fine).

The comment about "working as intended" was a reference to the new reporting in general. They switched the way they cookied stuff. Now the reporting doesn't show the $0 bid or BIN items. You will only see "winning bid" if they win. So we lose the ability to see what has been bid on if they do not win it.

IMHO that loss of data sucks.

They claim they removed the "bid" BIN items since they showed $0 and it was too confusing for people... maybe so, however that data was useful. More to the point, there have been a number of affilates who proved with that data that they didn't get paid for some winning bids. That was the whole tracking issue they have been refering to.

There has not been any Ebay rep. comment directly addressing the missing Dec 1 winning bids.

The issue from the winning bids on the 1st looks like it's a one-off problem as the 2nd looks fine. I'm going to the Charger/Raider game tonight with someone from eBay, so I'll make them look at it on Monday and let you know.

So the rumor is that the data was delayed and combined with the next day(s?).

For my account I could see that Dec 1 was combined with Dec 3. Dec 1 was basically 0 and Dec 3 could be double norm. There is no way for me to be sure though.

    Shawn, any word?

The official word I got about the winning bids on the 1st is, "It's a reporting issue and transactions will be dumped in soon enough."

Also, I should have mentioned that data from the 1st was NOT rolled into later days (2nd, 3rd, etc.)

My sales from Dec 1 have shown up today. However there are 0 active registrations for that day - and that would be the only day there were 0. I guess that is possible.

I had no issue with ACRUs... only with winning bids being low (which are there now).
