    Hi Guys ,

Since many of you haven't aware of the new Policy from FTC . . Week hearted bloggers don't read it . If you are earning something out of your blog , then its tough time for you . FTC has announced the new guidelines for all the bloggers . IF you are writing any product review means , you have to get the sample of the product and use it and review about the product ,

Example : if you are reviewing about any face cream , you have to use it before writing the review . .

11,000 USD fine for those who write reviews without using the product . . .

    IS blogging Dead ?

FTC is the federal trade commission, hmmm I think on the other hand, it is a good decision for the consumers.

How exactly will they regulate it? They have no authority outside of US, and even in the US anyone can claim that they did use the product. There's no way to prove otherwise. I wonder why they're targeting bloggers so harshly, but never do anything about "miracle diets" or "make money fast" schemes.

It's a nice thought though. Bloggers shouldn't advertise dishonestly, pretending to write their personal opinion when in fact it's all sponsored fiction. Bloggers should disclose commercial ties. The honest bloggers already do all that.

They don't mean if you review the product that you had to use it, what they mean is if a company gives you a product to review for free, then you have to write somewhere in the post that you got the product for free from X company.

The won't be able to enforce it that well, but this is more of a clarification of an already existent law that applies to print sources. Nothing really new for Americans here. It's also common sense, I mean, if you haven't used a product a blog post about it will do the reader no good. This actually works in two ways, it enforces the law that's already in place, and could create less fluff content out there on the net.

Blogging wont be dead due to this policy and its a really good one. Why would you like to fool your blog readers posting fake reviews.

blogging is different from writing reveiws, and another thing is that it is not possiblie to regulate millions of blogs. LOL while many of those originate from outside? and what proof will the blogger have to paste with the blog? the grocery bill from where he bought the cream?

I think what they are talking about are people who do not disclose the fact that they have been paid to make the review, or given some other sweeteners.
