    I have an SBI A/c.

The check would be sent to the US for payment.

Just write "Wells Fargo Bank, US as the drawee bank in the form.

There will be some processing charges charged by SBI and it will usually take a week or two for the cash to be credited to your account [as in my case with citibank]

no way, just deposit the cheque normally and the cash will be yours at an exchange rate..no matter whatever bank is mentioned on it

    Congratulation about your Payment Check...

Let me clear it.. Its not a Check so you can't directly take it from Bank... Adbrite sends "PayOrder"

All you have to do it.. go to bank where your have local account... just give them "Payorder" they will cut bank fees (5-10$) and do the rest for you ... Cheers..!!

I had kept check minimum amount at $5 for Adbrite checks. I am using ICICI & they have Rs. 285 as processing fees, nearly the same as the check amount :( . I have since changed minimum amount to $25.

while cashing in an international cheque ask the bank to give a discount of check in USD and they will charge about Rs200 to 300 and the amount will be credited to your account within 2 days less 300. In this way you can cash foreign checks much faster.

I didn't understand it. I just fill-in the check deposit form and drop it in their collection box. Is there any other way?

No to get a discount to that cheque you have to talk to bank manager. Discount means the bank will buy the foreign check on todays currency date and they will cash it anytime later when they see profit in currency rates. just talk to the manager.

Which Bank are you talking about . ICICI , HDFC, Citibank, ABNAmro , Axis or any public Sector Banks.

When I deposited my cheque in HDFC Bank , I had to fill in a form stating from where I got this money and then deposit the cheque in drop box and 23 days later the amount was in my account on that day's currency exchange rates - (Rs 300 + 12.24%service tax).
