Hello, Various e-commerce software are being widely used by webmasters across the globe such as, os commerce, open cart, zen cart etc.. All of them are loaded with a feature to enable seo friendly urls. So do you think that actually helps a website seo wise? ...Because my view is that enabling it actually masks the original dynamic url with a static looking url having .htm or .html extension. That means its a kind of url redirection which is always dislike by Google. What do you say?
The URL appears static looking to the search engines and contains important keywords it's one of the most important on-page SEO processes you should do.
Oh yea those urls will help. All of your category and product pages will have the keywords in the URL and just think about it, that has to make it easier for google to figure out what is on the page, right? For me this is eCommerce SEO 101 and is always a must have. I've seen results to be so much better and rankings much much faster.
Thank you for your inputs. That confirms enabling static URL is an inevitable part of SEO for e-commerce sites. Further supporting ideas or counter views are always acceptable.
