Hey guys, just a quicky. Do empty <div></div> tags pose a problem for search engine rankings? The site functions fine with them there, but of course I don't want to drop rankings for bad HTML so would it be worth cleaning up?

Hmm, not sure "bad" html would influence ranking much, what you're talking about is quite minor as far as im aware, it shouldn't be a problem.

It won't effect rankings, but you may want to remove them anyway.

Careful. Some of those so-called empty div tags could be needed for formatting.

I don't think that search engines drop rankings for bad HTML.Some time for the page format we have to use empty div tags.
