A conversation I had recently with somone who has just come back from the Kyber pass so to speak.
Employment in Afghanistan employed in Opium manufacture has hit 3.9 Million
This exceeds 30 % of the population.
1 KG of the golden sells directly from the farms for $189 a KG
Just over 90% of the worlds Opium now has a "made in Afghanistan" sticker on it.
The production capacity of this region has increased to roughly 12,000 tonnes per annum due to the new fields in Swaat Valley.
The fields are guarded by Taliban.
The Taliban are possibly paid by the same people as their predecessors.
Production is actually up since the UK and US invaded.
    Ever seen American Ganster?
Is this the real reason for the "War in Afghanistan?"

I think that the west should develop and deploy some kind of a biological agent in Afghanistan, that kills opium plants, and nothing but opium.
This will save the world and the Afghani people a lot of trouble, and will make the Taliban disappear.

That would actually cause more problems.
It opium is roughly 50% of the Afghan GDP
It would be like being hit by a nuke for them.
The opium would just be grown somewhere else.
    The most concerning thing is.
    Who is paying the Taliban?
Obviously they are paid by drugs proceeeds. But who is at the top of the food chain?
So powerful that they can actually increase production AFTER a US and UK invasion.
    Think about it......
