OK just to underline for everyone what an appraisal is

Appraisal is an estimation based on the sound of the domain, the experience of the person doing the appraisal, previous sales, common rules like .com is the best TLD, few characters, no numbers, no dashes......

If someone for example is used to sell very cheap his domains and he sold a similar domain for $20 bucks then he assumes that your domains may cost the same

My point is that appraisals don't worth anything, they are related to the person doing the appraisal and even reputable sources like sedo do not add anything to your name

If you have a reputable appraisal this will not bind the future buyer or make him start bid high because sedo or anyone else said so

Let's say sedo says your name worth $XX,XXX and you never find a buyer to give you that amount, then what ?
I saw many domainers pay for appraisals and after a year or two drop them because nobody was interested

Take this example of : emoticone.info
So far i saw an appraisal of $10, maybe others would say $20 or $30 or $50
I sold the name for $278 before some days

    Does this proves something ?

Yes it proves that appraisals and end-buyers are not the same

So my advice for everyone and especially domainers is to select carefully your names and support them
If you have a fair name with good promotion and support you can sell it at a good price

PS. Just one note about the reason i post my names here. I see appraisal section as an advertising area plus an area where you can get an idea you didn't think so far. I really like forumers and fellow domainers and every post from them counts
