Hi all.....dont know were to post this...hope this is the right place

    I need some quick thinking

basically the datacenter were my sites were hosted shut down without warning.....all info was lost, there is no chance I get the data back and put frankly I have no backup.......

I am too pissed off to be lectured about keeping a backup.....I just dont have one....I need some quick thinking as to how I can retrieve any information I have.....I am going through googles cache and pasting onto word.....is there anything else I can do at the moment??

    thanks

Did someone design the site for you? Might they have a copy?

Did you have a dedicated server?

If you do there is a Microsoft product that you can go in through your ssh and download everything from your hard drive. I am sorry but I can not think of the name of that program to save my life, but if I do I will post it or someone here may know what I am talking about.

If you dont have a dedicated server, maybe your hosting company can send you a copy of the hard drive you were on. Plus its strange that your hosting company doesnt keep a backup.

Aside from driving there and demanding the doors to be opened....

    You are pretty much screwed...

You need to contact a lawyer.

but I run a hosting company and in the TOS it states that the information on the server is your own liability.

You basically should check to see if they had a Termination policy and see if their is a breach.

For example I must ntoify customers 48 hours bnefore temrinating an account.

If this is in breach then you have a STRONG case and lawyer can help you get money back for damges.. as well as the data.
