Emergency Wordpress Problem

Okay, I posted a post like I do every day and hours later come to check up and my site is blowing up.

It's acting very strange. I checked the status of my server and it would state that the HTTP section is down, then it would be up, then down.

When trying to access the admin section of Gazotto I would get the wp-config.php file is incorrect warning and wouldn't be able to access it.

I would try again and it would work normally, seconds later everything worked except for the manage section of the admin link.

Now I logged in and got these database errors.

    Under the Mangage Section:

Then when I opened my last post to edit it I get these two errors

I haven't messed around with my config.php file and have ABSOLUTELY never given usernames and passwords to anyone at anytime.

What the hell is going on? Is it the server acting up? Or is it something else?

Sorry, I know squat about MySQL.

The frontend of the site seems to be working but the backend is shot. Then both will go off.

Edit: I managed to get into the Cpanel and backup the database as this was happening.

Your best bet would be to contact your host, it definitely is the database.

But it's nothing I did right?

    I'm contacting them right now.

Looks like it's something that happened to the posts table. maybe you installed a plugin and the table name wasn't created or you accidentally deleted something in that table? Maybe even a bad scripting error in a plugin.

Have you narrowed it down to a plugin issue or is it a general WP problem you're having outside of plugins?

    Hey fsmedia,

The last plugin I installed was months ago. I think it's a general WP problem. It's acting very unstable and will be online and offline whenever it likes to.

    Thanks for helping.

    Hey guys,

I'm totally freaking out here. Probably should calm down.

    I'm using WP 1.5 BTW.

I added "XFish Meta" about 5 months ago so that I could add meta tags. Now when I go in to edit them the data there is gone with those errors I mentioned:

    and

What I don't understand is why everything is going offline then online if one little thing is messed up.

    Please help.

Edit: Also it well let me write a new post but that plugin doesn't seem to be running.

Do you think something happened today when I was editing my last post.

Maybe you should upgrade then ;) There are newer versions out -- and there's a reason there are newer versions (bug fixes/security fixes/enhancements)

Looks like a corrupt table in the db to me.

I'd kill the plugin from your setup and see how that goes.

Okay, but that will eliminate all my meta data won't it?

    Skinny

    Alrite guys.

I know little in MySQL as stated but managed to get into phpMyAdmin. There it said the wp_postmeta is in use, but didn't have any stats as did the other things in the table.

When I tried opening it I got

Now that I know this plugin has corrupted the table or database. (Sorry for my bad use of these terms) I guess I gotta shut it down.

Is there anyway to recover that info. Like what will happen in Google? SERPs?

    Skinny

WP is now being a serious pain in the @$$. This plugin just modifies the backend and is never used on any files. i.e. you don't insert any lines of code. Deleting the file does nothing and i can't get into the stupid plugins.php page.

This is really ticking me off

That sucks. Is it a verified plugin on the Codex for Wordpress? If it isn't, then you ran the risk on your own :(

    Sorry Guys,

Well after much freaking out and investigation I found out that I had exceeded my storage limit.

Once I added some more everything kicked in and all meta data was in tact.

As for upgrading, I soon will be modifying the design so I'll upgrade then.

Thanks to everyone for trying to figure out what was wrong.
