Emergency Tax

Hello,

So, with the resession getting worse, and my job now have cut my full time job down to a part time job, (below 10hours) I do a week at my job, making aprox £150 a month....

I applied to get a second job... working in another store, the cashier said that i'd get this thing called emergency tax, does anyone have any idea what it is?

I am pushing myself to keep my house... I've applied for 3 new jobs with the current job I have.

I think it's when you get more then one job in england you have to do something? i'm not sure?!
