    Hi,

We are having little bit problem with other directory site.
Let me explain what is that
My directory is http://www.wwebdirectory.com/ . In this directory, we use a category description for each category,
When we describe each category, In this category, http://www.wwebdirectory.com/index.php?s=2&category_id=143 , Last line
Well, you just got lucky, because you hit our site on which we prepared this special corner for you. we use but the problem this line is used in another directory's each category. Here is the link : http://www.mygreencorner.com/Education/
Unfortunately Google find this line and notify this to other site administrator that we are copying his site. Here the link : http://209.85.135.132/search?q=cach...s+special+corner+for+you"&cd=10&hl=en&ct=clnk
And this directory administrator inform us to remove this sentence from the site.
My question that We did not copy this sentence or this article from this site. this line has been created by us. Now Do I remove this sentence?
    Please advise me.

    Thanks
    Mahi

It is impossible to create the exact sentence in the same order. As you see, I use a words game. My directory name is "My Green Corner". The is why I state: "we prepared this special corner".
    Other copied phrases:
"Our Education listings are carefully reviewed, as we have the solely desire of satisfying our visitors that are in search of Education resources."
"The sites bellow are family friendly, authorities in Education field and meant to be a great startup collection, so enjoy surfing"

You realize there is NO WAY you could align all these words in the same manner.

You have obviously copied everything cut-to-cut from my green corner. How can so many sentences be same? I understand a line maybe similar but its never same.

If you still wanna copy something, atleast change it in a better way and add something creative to it? Copied content will never take you far!

Btw which directory script is your webdirectory running?

The best thing for you to do in this situation is to remove those copied sentences from your directory. If you can't write good English, find a friend who can to help you out.

There's no need to keep denying or claiming your innocence here. Have you ever asked yourself how Mr. G knew in the first place you copied? Because it cached that exact sentence from My Green Corner ever before yours came up. This will do you more harm than good, since MY G knows about it. Sooner or later other other search engines will know about it too. What do you think will be the outcome? A total mess.

Don't take offense at me for telling you the truth. It's for your own good! I'm not affiliated with My Green Corner and I don't even know the owner. But I'm saying this matter-of-factly. Just apologize to the guy and the others you may have copied quietly and privately, so there won't be any repercussions. Remember the apology has to be made after removing the copied content.

Don't take my words as a slap on your ego. Take it as a blunt frankness and directness that will help to resolve this matter, to your benefit.

It's bad enough you copied the category descriptions but you took their branding too?

You're not even a clever thief.

Had your complaint been just, many here would have tried to help you.

Pulling the category descriptions is the first right thing you've done.

You're either going to have to decide to repair, relaunch and beg forgiveness or quit.

    This is Ridiculous.
I have a strong objection your few lines.
What do you mean " you took their branding too " and " Pulling the category descriptions is the first right thing you've done. "

"We prepared this corner" is part of their branding. It promotes their name - My Green Corner. Your site's name and design makes no mention or references to "corners". If you had tried to build your site around the branding of a trademarked phrase you would most likely be talking to a lawyer today instead of us. Check out Wikipedia if you want to see examples and a longer explanation on brands and branding - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brand

As to the pulling the descriptions being the first right thing you've done right. You can object all you want. No honest website owner is pleased when they see someone else lift content from another site and claim it as their own. Directories as a whole have been tainted by people taking shortcuts to what they perceive as easy money. Stealing, which is what you are doing when you use someone else's content without their permission, will never gain you friends among the people who frequent this forum.

You might have thought that you were being clever by lifting bits and pieces from different places but as you can see from the response here, a quick Google search is all it takes to find the original sources.

Face it, whether by intent or by an innocent misunderstanding, you broke other people's copyrights. Sure there is always a chance that an individual sentence or maybe two would match but as has been shown in this thread, too many matches existed to be reasonably assumed as coincidence.

You're lucky your webhost didn't pull your site. You're lucky that no one is going to sue you over this. And as I said, it was smart to pull down the stolen content.

You tried to defend yourself by attacking your victim and it backfired. Instead of further tainting your own brand by continuing to try to defend what you did, perhaps your time would better be spent taking the time to write your own category descriptions or chalk this entire episode up to a learning experience.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your nice comment.
For your kind information, I have already removed all the description from directory.
Actually, we are hired a professional article writer for creation of this article. That is the main reason for this problem. We did not want to steal or copy other site information.
    Hope you understand now.

We are preparing new article for this site and I will published those all article in here for avoiding further problem

    Thanks
    Mahi

You're now doing the right thing. If you truly hired someone who copied others' content, then I understand. Don't forget to explain your situation to Dugu quietly and ask for his forgiveness. Good luck!

It can be such a challenge to find a reliable writer who doesn't take the easy shortcut of "borrowing" other people's work. This sort of thing happens frequently with writers who are charging unrealistically low rates. The more clever ones are pushing the borrowed content through article spinners to create "new" content but often that new content is unreadable gibberish.

Should you be in the position of hiring a writer again, ALWAYS run a few sentences or cleverly worded phrases through Google before final payment. You also might want to check a site called Copyscape which claims to track matching words between websites. Keep in mind that if the page that the borrowed content appeared on is not well-indexed it may not come up in a Google search or on Copyscape.

If I were you, I would take a few categories a day and write new descriptions. There might be some other directory owners here who could recommend a reputable directory editor or writer that might match your budget. I could do it for you but I suspect that you could not afford my rates. :D

Good luck to you and just be careful in the future who you hire to work on your behalf.
