http://www.sourcewaveseo.com/seo-google-emd-update/ - is a fake site, trying to copy or get traffic for those looking for http://source-wave.com/.

EMD used to give your rankings a boost, especially if you were targeting those keywords in your articles. Now it does nothing.
Your better off coming up with a domain name that is brand able.

Not really important I guess. It can makes a little difference but nothing more. For example having a brandable website with usefull information will rank bether than a website that is just EMD and full of non usefull information. Also note if you want to build your website and keep getting visitors and such, make a short and brandable domain. I suggest 5-7 Characters Max, and then simply add good information so people who visit it are able to type in that domain and then you will have unique visitors to your website.

Make sure to add your domain to facebook, Google + since this will boost your domain authority,

    Cheers

They still work.. Just don't expect them to get as much authority as they once did. I think you'd get more credit on an EMD from Yahoo than you would Google. Focus on quality content and links rather than just EMD's
