Hi all. I just uploaded a video to my website in the admin portal, how do I embed the video into a blog? (so it's a bit like a YouTube video, with a player ect). Thanks.
Put your cursor where you want the video to appear in the post and click the second Add Media icon You may want to use this great plugin in future. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/vipers-video-quicktags/
NashTax, what format is the video in? If it's .flv, you can use the FLV Embed plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/flv-embed/ It has a YouTube-style player for hosted .flv videos. I was going to suggest this exact same plugin. It's the best for embedding videos from third-party sites, such as YouTube, MetaCafe, etc.
If you want a commercial grade solution, take a look at the longtail video modification - longtailvideo.com/ After looking through the options of the longtail video player, its going to be the next investment I make on my site. With longtail video, you can also embed ads into the video. So you can make money from your video productions.
The file is a .mov file, I have uploaded the file to wordpress I just need it to be in a player format now instead of people clicking the link then viewing the website. How would I go on about doing this please? Thanks for your replies by the way.
Check out this page, it gives you the code for embedding a .mov file: http://www.jakeludington.com/project_studio/20050911_embedding_quicktime_mov.html Although if I were you, I'd try to find a way to convert it to an .flv, then you can use the FLV Embed plugin. YouTube uses .flv files as well, so this would be the best option if you want it to look YouTube-like.
Its not difficult. Just add your own media to your post, and choose FLASH. You didn't need FLV plugin or other plugins.
