I am looking for someone to create a customized browser by using the Internet explorer or Mozilla's engine. It shall be used for internal distribution.

The browser is supposed to be no-frills, no eye-candy browser with simple controls as:
    1. Navigation: Back, Forward, Refresh/Stop, Home.
    2. File and About menu
    3. Homepage set to a particular URL.
Details of customization can be discussed

Your are expected to give the installer EXE file.

A list of recent works will be appreciated :)

    PM the quote(or reply here).
Any budget inquires strictly through PMs.
Payment through Payment(35% upfront). Direct bank transfer for Indian bank account holders.

    Sincerely
    -Rohan

    Important change in condition:
Now, I have changed my mind. Instead of it being IE or FF, I need FF only. I realized that with IE, I will have to waste my productivity to make the design application compatible with various versions of IEs. Hence, IE is dropped.

    Only FF embedding is seeked.

Select programmers who responded to this thread have been informed of this change. Others visiting the thread hereafter should kindly make a note of this point.

[I intended to make these changes in the first post itself, but could not find an edit button.]

Firefox has its own API, if it is the GUI and all other things.

In order to have Firefox embedded in the application you wish, the client needs to install sort of ActiveX plugin in order to let the embedded object to communicate with Firefox.

so if you wish to give the client a masked browser of IE or FF that in size can be very very small, in order to make it work with FF the client would have the need to install another program - which is not made by you.

This will scare the client away in my opinion.

    But it can be done.

PM me if you are interested in any of the solutions.

This is truly the wrong path to follow. You consider fixing your mistakes a waste of productivity?

I feel sorry for any of your customers.

I don't believe he's talking about his own mistakes, but his design's compatibility with Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer has many bugs and mistakes that make pages look very different across its different versions. If he'd rather have firefox used as an engine for this program it's a rather smart choice. Battling IE's endless rendering bugs is the biggest waste of productivity a web designer has.

aryex- Flock has done it... The Firefox source is available for download and can be used for any Firefox rebrand. Its the only way.

    Hi Areyx,
Either you misunderstood something or may be I am misunderstanding your post. Sorry if you didn't mean that way.

What I want to do is give the user a installer just like the one we download from Mozilla's site! The browser will communicate with the server!

btw what do you mean by 'another program should also be installed by the client'? I thought that the programmer would give me a setup.exe file which would install my rebranded browser just as FF? Am I missing anything here?

    @BurnZ3r0,
While it is easy to rebrand Mozilla's technology, there are some 'legal' issues around it.
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox_Rebranding
Though I am not sure if it applies for compiling customized builds from source too!

@Ipro, yes, Thanks. That is what I meant.

I understand IE isn't perfect but sites can be coded to display properly in all browsers.
