I have an audio clip on my sales letter, but would assume that video would be even more powerful. The only thing is that I get about 1000 uniques a day and don't want to pay for the extra bandwidth of having a video. What do you guys think of the idea of uploading a video to YouTube and then using their embedding feature to put it on my sales letter? The video window is pretty clean looking and only has a small "youtube" icon in the bottom right corner. It's still pretty professional looking especially if I shrink it down. What do you guys think?
Bandwidth is pretty cheap now days, have you looked at dreamhosts standard deal? On the other hand I think YouTube will work fine.
I would deal with paying for extra bandwidth Youtube could work - but in my opinion it wouldn't be as professional looking having a YouTube link attached to your site...might even make you look "cheap"?
My product is in the fitness industry and a large portion of my visitors are not Internet savvy, so I wonder if they would even take note of it. In any case, let's say I had a 1 minute video uploaded and was getting about 1000 uniques a day... what would that cost me roughly?
That all depends... check out some kind of shared hosting package with like 60 GB of bandwidth and you should be perfectly fine. You can get stuff like that through dreamhost for cheap. But remember that YouTube (from what I've read) is nearly as popular as MySpace.com now so I'm sure most of the users know about it.
i don't think youtube video play by itself, your user has to click to the video in order for it to start loading
Apparently not everyone knows this, otherwise it wouldn't be used by everyone, now would it? And don't give me a patronizing answer if you accuse me of being patronizing. Seems like you can't live up to your own standards.
