Yeah, the email address for each buyer is listed in the records (click the little email image on the side), but if you are an affiliate, I would not contact buyers. It will only confuse them (they will wonder who the hell you are). If you're a vendor - different story, you can definitely email them...

I agree 100% with dlm. An affiliate should not contact buyers.

A vendor, on the other hand, should add all email addresses to a mailing list. Since you know they're willing to buy digital products, they can be a very lucrative/hot marketing list. Don't spam them, though... make sure you have an opt-in process just like you would for a prospects mailing list.

I think dlm has pretty much summed it up.

    NO.

Have you ever noticed reputable vendors have a Check-Box that allows people to elect whether they want to receive promotions? YES Because it doesn't matter if they are buyers or not, they need to ELECT to receive newsletters.. Auto Enrollment will lead to trouble sooner or later. Just because someone bought something does not mean they want their email accounts to be spammed.

You can put an newsletter opt-in on the thank you page, or program in a check-box with the API.. To give the customer the OPTION of receiving your emails.

Sending offers without their permission is SPAM

"Each separate email in violation of the law is subject to penalties of up to $16,000, and more than one person may be held responsible for violations. For example, both the company whose product is promoted in the message and the company that originated the message may be legally responsible"

This is directly from the CAN-SPAM Act.

So not only can the come after you but they can also come after the vendor...which is why all vendors have an "affiliate agreement" saying you will not email anyone who buys a product from which you earn a commission.

If you want emails, set up a Aweber Autoresponder and do it that way. You can not decide who bought from you but who cares. build a big enough list and it wont matter. If they did buy, they will buy again and if they didnt, they will sooner or later.
