Emailing Link To Buyer After They Pay?

This may be a bit hard to understand but here we go.

I wish to offer items on my web site that can be bought. At the moment I am using PayPal as I have used them for a good few years (2004 I think).

What I'd like to have is buyers click on a link that sends them to PayPal and they pay (simple) and then they receive an email with a url to their product that they have just purchased.

I know this is possible as I have seen it done many times with ebooks and the like.

Anyone know how this is done?

Go to Paypal and create the Buy Now button, click on Advance and you should be able to add a return URL which is where all successful payment goes to. Then just encrypt the link so that no one can just copy it.

Of course, the best method is to use the IPN .

    Thank you for you reply.

As a newbie I was not even aware of what IPN was but a quick look on Google told me that it is something called Instant Payment Notification. After reading the blurb on PayPal's web site I was lost amongst talk of hidden forms and such.

I'll stick to manually sending out the emails whilst I try to get my head around IPN. :)

There's a script doing this for you (and lots of other stuff), and it's rather easy to install; the $7 script.

It comes with giveaway rights - just PM me and I will give you a download link :)
