Email provider wanted non-corporate, non-NSA accessed

    I am migrating away from NSA accessed GMAIL by Google. Please suggest alternative, considering :

    Must be free.
    The service must have been up in the last 5 years minimum.
    It must have GMAIL-like search functionality: partial-word search, attachment search.
    It should be llike google in dynamic HTML.
    Must have POP3 or similar import/export method.
    And most importantly. How is the provider protecting me from NSA-style unathorized practices. ( Most companies with Terms that read like "We do our best bla bla bla, unless we are legally required bla bla" will not do here. I may aswell stay with google otherwise.

    MEGA and Bittorrent had similar email projects, but I am yet to see a service offering from them.
