I want to become an email provider. How will I setup this? Do I need some script or just contact my host?

What do you mean by email provider? Do you want to offer accounts under a specific domain? Do you want to host email for any domain? Do you want to do virus/spam scanning?

Well, if you're planning to become titans like gmail or yahoo, then I say, stop it then and there!

If it's for personal use or a group or friends/people you want to give email accounts to, then yes, its reasonable.

Login to your hosting control panel > manage email accounts > create new accounts as you wish.

Wow great! One question, how will my friends access it then and how will they create an account if its from google? will they also access it through mydomain.com/webmail?

how about creating an account? where will they go to google or to my domain?

Try SocketMail.com. It's so far the best script I have seen. You can also add Google adsense in it.
