    Email Notifications!

What are your views about it?

A lot of a free directories come up daily and submitting site to them brings you email notifications.

Often, the notifications are to the point. But then there also those who send you tons of junk and spam in approval/submission/decline notification.

Some don't send notifications at all.

Also email id's registered during submission to free directories become a victim of mass generated spam emails.

What your opinion about Email Notifications? - Is it the best abused feature of Directories?

Yes I agree, been getting a lot of spam lately. So I think that only way to this is getting a free acct on Gmail/Yahoo and use it only for directory submissions.

That is what I have been doing lately.

The script programmers are to blame as much as anyone giving the option to send out mass emails.

Just because they give the option doesnt mean it has to be used. When you drive a car you have the option to run people over...but do you?

Just joking, I've found Mikey's comparison really funny :)

I also use separate email address for every new site. Saves a lot of "mark as spam" clicks.

No but there is always a minority that will. If you live in a country where guns are legal you are more likely to get shot. - If you submit to a directory scripted by a program with mass mailing options you are more likely to get spammed.

I use my Gmail account when submitting to directories; I don’t really need the notifications.

If I have paid for a review I always check to see if it’s approved or not, If it’s a free directories then I’m not worried if it’s approved or not.

    Thanks Brian
