email not working - not permitted to relay mail

    Hi,

    I'm using PHP mail() to send emails and since Thursday have been receiving the following error:


    The following address(es) failed:


    Gid 32112 is not permitted to relay mail, or has directly called /usr/sbin/exim instead of /usr/sbin/sendmail.


    The hosting company don't seem to know what's causing it, they've tried reinstalling the mail server but it's still happening.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

    Alls well that ends well. The hosting company rebuilt sendmail and updated cpanel and emails are now being sent.
