email marketing is useless. even you got a targeted customer emails the CTR still very low. I dont see email marketing is a good marketing methods really.
Email marketing does work ... BUT ... you have to create your own list of opt-in subscribers ... this is the best way instead of "buying" so called email lists .... It takes time and hard work to build a list but one that is well worth it ... You can give away a free ebook or something to boost your list more quickly ...
Email marketing does work well if it is done in the right way. In our company we have a very good business contact database. However, we successfully cleansed our records with the help of Jigsaw.com. They have a service called Jigsaw Clean that helps in consolidating the database and removing duplicate data. It’s been a very effective solution for us. You should try it too. and it worked very well in sales lead generation.
Every big "internet marketing guru" relies on e-mail marketing. Why? Because it allows them to send out an e-mail or two to their list making a product recommendation, then sit back and make thousands or tens of thousands of dollars within a few hours or days...and to do this over and over again. So does e-mail marketing work? Yes. IF you do it correctly. Doing it correctly means building your own list of subscribers (NOT buying email addresses and spamming people) and setting it up with an autoresponder service like Aweber(which costs about $20/mo.), so that you can automate the mailing process and schedule a sequence of follow up e-mails to go out to your subscribers as they opt-in. As for crappy opening rates...YES, your open rates will suck comparitively if all you do is constantly pitch products at your subscribers. If, on the other hand, you send them valuable information along with your product pitches and build a relationship with them where they trust and like you, they'll actually open your e-mails and act on your product recommendations. E-mail marketing is the difference between making a quick one-time sale, and making multiple sales to the same customers, possibly for YEARS to come. It works if you do it right.
Buying email list is way too risky and unprofitable: 1. Are you sure the email list the person is selling you is indeed made for that particular domain only? 2. Even if the seller is naive, he might have got it from elsewhere and that seller could have cheated..This way, you can have no idea where the email list emerged, and hence the addresses can have a huge bounce rate, or non-conversion rate. What if you spend a hundred dollars in getting hold of the email list and they all turn to be worthless..you cannot sue the seller right? You are spamming, anyways, which is illegal And in this, I am not even talking about the CAN-SPAM stuff, which makes it illegal that you can also be jailed for the same. but trust me, email marketing can work like magic. For that, the best way would be to 1. Make a good ebook out of free articles in the niche available on the internet. 2. Make it a free download on your website, but not before you get the email address of the visitor and you authenticate it. 2. Post the website on forums(if that's not allowed, post it on signature). With a week or two of hardwork, you should have a small, but very very targeted list of people to whom you can sell your affiliate products to. -KnewThis
Email marketing is very effective if you do it in right way. It is always advisable to build you own list and keep in contact with them. If you do it it works like a wonder ...i have my own list of nearly 2000 subscribers and I can promote anything i want to them. Generally the conversion rate is 2-3 % but it takes single click to get those conversions....I never buy email lists so do not have any experience with them.....cheers
I have been an account manager for a few years now at an email service provider that offers the infrastructure and mailing software to execute professional email marketing campaigns to millions of records. I have personally seen my clients make over 100k a month. Kracow is right, we have powerful mailing software that can send out over 250k emails per hour. We then use high grade quad servers with C-Class's to broadcast over multiple IP's. If your thinking you can just jump into this you will lose your shirt, a true pro knows about the best offers to send (and gets the highest pay outs from the networks), can master body file editing for inbox delivery, knows where to get the best and newest data, knows how to manage IP reputation, the correct retry settings for the major ISP's, domain throttling for each ISP, data segmentation, relationships with good hosts, how to analyze delivery, and it goes on and on. To get started you need atleast 15k if your going to make a decent attempt at it. Good luck, if anyone has any questions or needs info I can help.
This is a joke, right? First ... you say "Email Marketing is fading". THEN... you talk about a 2% conversion rate. Direct Mail marketers would KILL for that kind of conversion. Give me that kind of "fading" any day!
I'm willing to bet that these people stating that Email Marketing is "dead" or "worthless" are either: 1) Not actually making any money online. 2) Offering a service that competes with Email Marketing. 3) Doing Email marketing completely wrong. 4) Confusing "spamming" with EMail Marketing or ... 5) All of the above. First .... Spamming and Email Marketing are two completely different animals. Guys offering you a million emails for $10 is NOT Email marketing. That is spamming. Building and managing your own list of targeted and responsive prospects that respect you and look forward to your emails. That is Email Marketing. Email Marketing is very effective. Many of my clients use Email Marketing quite effectively. They benefit from cost savings. Pennies on the dollar as compared to direct mail. They benefit from tracking. Clients can track their open rate and their click-through rate. They benefit from virtually instant results. A well written offer sent to the right market can generate sales within minutes of clicking "send". I've made my living and have taught thousands of others to do the same for over 8 years.
While I agree with your point that email marketing is not dead and works still (though I do not use it nor have I bought anything from email marketers), I guess point 2 of yours holds true for you as well. Probably you are making it look genuine because of your own business. No offences, though -Knewthis?
I use email marketing alot, but just for my product sites. I find it to work quite well, when i do it though... I discuss a free product in the email to lure in the prospects and from there they can see all the upsellings. As for email lists i personally use my own members lists generated from my search engines and webmaster member based sites. --Thanks!
email marketing can be very powerful if done right. A good way is to include a sign up on your website and let people join. This way they will be more receptive for what you have to offer. Building up lists is a good way to get return visitors and to market products to them.
