I am looking for a free mailing list as an alternative to aweber. if you have anything to recommend, please post here. I am looking for one that allows me to add a simple opt-in box to my webpage. the user submits his email address to opt-in. phpList requires the user to go to a new webpage to opt-in, so its a no-no
Honestly, it would be a disservice to use someone other than one of the big players. You do realize Aweber is only $20/mo right? Can you imagine any big player in IM using a free service? The main problem with using a free service, is they have been known to fold, and you could lose everything. Also you're cutting off your nose to spite your face. Aweber has excellent delivery, which means on a free service you might get a 80% delivery rate, but a 95% delivery rate with Aweber. And that can make all the difference between a losing campaign and a winner. So, use a free service at your own risk. I think it's just not that wise of a decision.
I know what you mean Fred, but this is my 1st venture into email marketing. I don't even have a list yet, so I don't want to jump in on $20/month. just gonna try things out a little and see how all this works before I invest.
That's gonna bite you in the rear when you decide you need to switch autoresponders.......... You'll spend time building your list, then when you switch (and you WILL switch) you'll have to ask your subscribers to opt-in to your new list at Aweber. Listen. I have ZERO to gain here by telling you this. For reasons unforseen..........and too hard to explain........... Do yourself a HUGE favor and fork out 20 bucks a month for AWEBER If you can't afford $20 a month right now then quit smoking, eat McDonalds 3 times less, cut a lawn, shovel a driveway, or something. You NEED a professional service. Trust me. This is the A NUMBER ONE most important thing you DON'T want to screw with. I was a poor restaurant server when I first got started marketing online but I ALWAYS found a way to come up with $20 for AWEBER. Here's another thought. If you really think you can't come up with 20 bucks each and every month, you are way too under capitalized to consider starting an email campaign. Focus on your JOB first. Save for some maneuvering and start in just a few more months. You DON'T need to start today.
I like aweber, but I believe some of the other big name autoresponders have a free trial. I believe email aces has a free trial, but it was months ago that I looked into them so I might be wrong.
I'll have to agree with the comments about using a paid service. Going with a free service now means that the list you build now you'll lose when you have to move to a paid service. Instead of wondering if having a list will be worth your while how about if you make it your goal to earn another $20.00 a month in your business to make sure you can use Aweber? Having a list of customers who want to hear from you is definitely a boost to business. But starting with a free service will mean that you'll lose out on the benefits of having your email delivered, bounce backs taken care of and outstanding service. Aweber also has some educational modules available about using email marketing that should help you get started. It is your choice and your option but I'm afraid you'll be kicking yourself around the block later if you sign up with a free service now. That assumption however is based on another assumption that you know that you can make more than a living online and you are willing to pay the price both in time and effort to make it happen. Gail
ok, point taken. I will find a way to make up the $20 somewhere else. guess aweber is the only way to go. what are the other big players around? just weighing my options.
aweber or getresponse every time...I think getresponse is cheaper.... a friend of mine has both at autoresponderforyou.blogspot.com But you MUST go with a paid service.....do not go free....it will smack you in the long run
I've got an idea , if you interested. if you are going to use aweber or go response , go to my blog www dropship-and-wholesale-distributors.blogspot com at the top right corner , you can register for either one. I am trying to say that lets share the affiliate commission !! after you register , send me your paypal email to and I will pay you within 24 hours or maybe few minutes also cause nowdays i'm sitting infront of my laptop more than 15 hours. if you register aweber , i get 20 % commission of $20 or $4 , and I will send you total $4 for first month, and next month commission will be mine only. I will get a check minimum $20 , so I will be getting a check of $20 after 5 months. while you get instantly $4 , so I think this is fair enough.. its better than I send you 50% of what I get or $2 every month , it will be too much headache to remember this. so , after you register and mail me , you will get 20% back within 24 hours. don't you think its much better than you go directly there.. and for getresponse , same thing , you get 30 % commission or $5 within 24 hours after you register.. and hello everyone , i'm new here and in IM , my name is john and I am trying badly to make some bucks , till now , I just got two sale of $64 in my clickbank account. hi zenite , I hope you won't be against this if you are for sure going to register it anyway. everyone is welcome , same way of payment and same amount. thank you..
There's some nice advice given. We have been using aweber, pretty happy with it. But also heard good feedbacks on some other solutions (icontact, constant contact, etc.) If you will do a lot of autoresponders, I'd highly recommend aweber. Here's a nice and clean comparison chart of 5 email marketing solutions. I hope it helps. my advice: do not go with a free solution, you will get many headaches. P.S. Also checkout the "free email marketing guide" in my signature. It might give you some advice to start email marketing step by step. Good luck.
