Email marketing Vs Spam laws---A big smackdown

Day by day, spam laws are getting strict. It has many reasons. My point is what should email marketers do now? At one side there is very huge cost to saturate the business in market which is very difficult to cope up for small businesses; on the other side you simply put thousand of dollars in various types of advertisement and wait for sale. Moreover, is there any end of these restrictions? (One thing I want to clearly mention that I am not blaming straightly on laws just wants clear solution for legal promoters). What you people see the future of this effective response tool of promotion. The bottom line is that we wouldn't want to loose this promotional area. There is a need to find balanced solution so that illegal marketing can survive with full mode and rest become dust.

    Every Good Marketer Knows:

    Aweber.com's email service
is CAN-SPAM compliant and 100 percent Opt-In compliant.
Their mailservers are whitelisted so everything goes right to the inbox.

We've all fought with newsletter scripts and all that..
Aweber is so cool, I can't even say enough about it.

P.S. You can import your current lists, you just have to get the all to officially opt in. Then you can mail all you want.

Yeh, aweber and some similar services are not bad, what should do if I have new business or I belong to small & medium size industry. At least, there should be enough support (cost point of view:p) for such businesses so that they can perform their e-marketing smoothly. We should share our knowledge and expertise to help each other by pointing difficulties and their solutions.

I recently switched all my lists over to
    VerticalResponse.com, and I couldn't be
    happier!

Not only are my lists double opt-in (which
takes care of most issues), but they have
    SPAM-compliant checkers that double check
all my emails to make sure there's no troubles.

And they're relatively inexpensive, too. :)

This form of marketing will still be around forever, you just need to be more and more careful. For example marketers that only contact people who have opted-in to their lists are completely in the clear.

I agree with Scott that it is now very difficult to carry on email marketing. At the moment; situation is so critical and we can't convey our messages even to our subscribers. I remembered that I regularly monitored my send messages and find less response day by day even I was using email services of different companies. But now I find something better and it is my habit that I always share goods things which would be beneficiary for all of us. For three months, I am using Simple Mail Manager; a web services for email marketing accredited by Surety Mail and based in England. I find it cost effective (scott :) answer for your most important question) and almost complete for everything. They are very clear in their promise and most effectual thing I have found that they are giving customized services to every user which is little bit amazing for me that how can they manage all requirement of their customers? But anyway it is their headache not ours. So, I suggest all of losers or who are disappointed with hundred of wasted dollars. Try SMM...

I own the worlds largest OPT-IN email database and am one of the largest emails (per-Volume) in the world. The word Opt-In is totally over-rated. It makes you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside as a consumer buying a list but it nothing more than a preference from the bulk commercial emailing companies. As long as you have your header's correct, the subject lines not deceiving, your company address is in the email and you have an Opt-Out Mechanism (which is not even defined by the FCC) then your good. Anyone else that say different is a joke. People can frown all they want about spamming, but the truth is, is that I am filthy rich because of it. My house is paid off, I have no debt, I have the most expensive toys money can buy, my wife doesn't have to work and I get to travel everywhere. This is because of the power of a vast database. Disagree or agree, in the end I keep getting richer. I don't want to sound arrogant but I had been broke SO MANY times for years trying to figure out the secret to making money online. I can sy that the two things the make money are emailing and PPC campaigns.

I assure you its not. I actually own 2 real estate agency's, investment holding companies and I am a senior advisor to the S&P 500. I am NOT a list broker but rather the guy that spent $33,000 on list brokers and decided to off set the cost by selling the lists as I buy them up. I challenge anyone to go to the website and see for themselves. I will offer a smple of every loan officer in California just for this forum for the next hour. This is a $800 list I got from loanofficerlist.com. Copy and paste this into your browser Replace the (dot) with a .

I am laughing all the way to the bank. I don't keep the addresses on my website because of security concerns from hackers in Romania and Nigeria that have been trying very hard to crack in. I also use yousendit.com because it ensures the delivery of my product to my clients. Since I value their business, I make sure my clients have the best of everything.

You know emailaddress711, the biggest problem with you is that you didn't give any useful knowledge for the DigitalPoint community, you just spam DP to make some quick money. But I'm sure you won't make a dime because you are just telling us how much money you make, and you have no proof, no website, you're just a guy who lies that he has 3 BILLION opt-ins... you're pathetic.

It's not a flame war. You're just shamelessly advertising a scam, and you don't want to admit that:
    1. you're decieving people
    2. you didn't write any useful posts

I don't usually care about spammers because they write like 2-3 posts and then they're gone, but you're still trying to convince us about something that's a scam.

Liston, Liston guys, stop this right now. Everyone who is using internet knows that what is legal and what is illegal. If someone tries to put on our head that I am making money through such way and it is right... then what ever???We all know spam rules and we have to follow them strictly whatever they are. You know why, if you try to carry one business with principles and honesty then you may earn ten times then short cuts that I have read in above posts. The only thing required from our side is patience because running on right track needs some time to mature your promotional message, sale of your product and number of customers. But remember; especially I am telling to those who want short cuts to boost their sales that they can sale their product only once if they use illegal method of selling but if we obey laws and act according to them then glory of our business will walk hand in hand with your doom. By the way, purchasing of email list is not allowed by law... everyone knows about it. :)

@emailaddresses711.com is much conscious:). I am afraid he may not run his business smoothly if he has no feedback channel. As he said that I didn't give email address at my site. So, I ask what the client should do if he want to inquire something before purchasing. Any alternative way you have???
