Email marketing software with tracking capabilities

    I talked today with an Adbase representative, and he showed me how they do their email marketing campaigns. Pretty cool.

    However, he asked me if I can make my own email marketing (just to be clear, that's not spam -- those are targeted emails to specific opt-in people who want certain services, in this case illustrations), because that way it is more cost effective.

    That got me wondering -- are there any (preferably free :) ) email marketing scripts or programs that can be used?

    Any recommendations?

    I'm using www.sendstudio.info It has all the features an email marketer will need. I love this script. - It's not free, it cost you a fee for license but they do have a hosted version too.

    I have seen a custom-made program that my friend uses.It has all the features you mentioned but have not seen a commercial one.

    Getresponse, Aweber all have tracking features.

    Not free but cheap.
