Email Marketing Scams!?

I have a new website, and I would love to get ivolved with email marketing. I have to trust a company that has it's own "opt-in" list, since my sit eis new, I have no email list of my own yet.

I used a company (emailmarketinginnovation.com) and paid $99 for a list of 900,000 emails to go out, plus they gave me a tracking website to visit to allow me to track the mailings.

This tracking site showed all kinds of people clicking the link in my email and going to my website, but my own site statistics do not reflect this! I emailed the company above and got nowhere.

Keeping a stiff upper lip, I tried again with a different company(startraffic.net). This campaign was 50,000 emails mailed for $119.99.
They are supposed to go out today.

My question to all of you marketing guru's is this, "What companies (if any) are reputable and do what they say? Their lists are real and the visitors are real and targeted? How do I make email marketing work for me?

I know that I will get some answers, you guys are very bright. Looking forward to reading the responses.

    Thanks!!!!!!

Your website wont see the traffic as referrals, only direct hits. Keep that in mind for non web based email clients. That said you should always see a good amount of Gmail, Yahoo mail type of hits when doing email marketing.

Additionally, don't expect to pay cheap rates like above for email list, and do check to see if they have PR and some type of Alexa ranking. Lastly if you want good results, break out some PPC and collect emails, that is unless you plan to dump some real money like $30k+ range.

What is the best way to collect emails? Is there such a software that will silently collect information from every visitor (like email address)? And would that be considered spam to send those people an email?

Read up on the CAN-SPAM laws, and checkout Aweber for email list management.

I used to work with a similar company, they are called: www.taketheinternetback.com and really got some good conversions from them. It's a Romanian company with an affiliate office in USA. Check them in google theyr are very honest. The mother company is: www.itconsultinglive.com

    Good luck!

Well, I expected links, but I am looking for REPUTTABLE email marketing companies, that wont take me for a ride. And it does no one any good for people to peddle their affiliations here.

I do not beleive that this is the true spirit of this forum.

Honestly, does anyone here know of a place I can get an opt-in targeted list and have my ad emailed to this list that will not just deliver site visits, but visitors that are ACTUALLY there to review or purchase my products?

Please pure souls, help your fellow man!

    Thank you

I wouldn't bother with those websites because most the people would just think it was spam and not even bother with it. You should really build up your own list and email them yourself instead of giving yourself a bad reputation at the start because there is nothing worse than a bad rep.

If you're sending out email to random people, you're not going to get good results. You can set up your own email subscription service and send your mailings to this targeted audience. To get more traffic to your site, focus on SEO.
