Hey guys, i was just thinking to start off with email marketing. Is this profitable? Also how to send bulk mails? PHP script is better or any software? (i have a lot of servers, windows and linux, so please tell me if they can help) to start off i have a 100k email list. only problem is i dont know how to send so many mails. Please help me out fellas thnx

I'm a little confused to how you can have a 100k list and not know the power of email marketing. Were you just messaging around while collecting all those emails? lol :s But yes email marketing is extremely powerful as it allows you to stay in touch with your customers/prospects.
I'm not sure how you got your list of 100k people, but I'd be careful to be sure you aren't spamming anyone. The best way to build your business with a mailing list is to build one yourself from scratch. As long as you use a good service like aweber then you will have no problem emailing the people on your list, and those people will also know who you are and will be wanting to receive information from you. If you just find a huge list somewhere, then there's a good chance you'll get a lot of spam complaints because people will not know who you are or how your got their email address.
If you don't already have a relationship with the people on the list, and you don't specifically have their permission for YOU to send emails to them, then you are looking at getting a lot of spam complaints. A cold list can be worse than no list at all, especially if it gets your domain on the blacklist.
Email marketing work nice as you will get instant traffic and if your offer is targeted then you will be able to convert it into money.
aweber.com is my choice to sending bulk email, very easy to use auto responder and you can set up many emails to be sent over a period of time.
Be sure to read some email marketing stuff in Google first before implementing this strategy. Having a high email delivery rate is the key for this one.
If you have a series of good Email marketing campaign and products to promote then the eMail marketing can be profitable but I have lost a couple of Hundred bucks with Mail marketing.
Email marketing is not a waste of time at all. Just because it didn't work for you, or even if it hasn't worked for you before, doesn't mean that it can't work. The company I work for specializes in Direct mail and Email campaigns, and I can tell you that it is profitable, and if done right, very profitable.
A lot has got to do with the ''follow-up'' i o w sending out mails to a list on a regular basis won't dne way to find out if you're mails are being read and which I use is the following : if you would promote an affiliate link then I try to give the link a ''personal'' touch - you can do this with budurl for instance ( here's an example (I don't know if I am allowed to post this) : budurldotcomslashdailycashnow - the other major advantage with budurl is that you can track who read your mails and clicked on your proposed link.Of course you can use software like readnotifydotcom where you can get a free signup. That is correct, the average for direct mail/email is anywhere from 1-3% with 3% being very good. The company I work for guarantees 8% response rate, but we usually see campaigns with 25% response rates and have had a few be as high as 500%.
