    Hi,

I am looking to start email marketing in a big way. What do i need to know?

What is the best way to send out bulk (xx,xxx) emails? Should I use a service supplied by someone else or can I do it myself?

Is there a way I can check for bounce rate or how many emails have gone into spam?

What is the best way to track sales from emails? - I have google analytics setup - is there a way of seeing how many sales have come from that?

    Thanks
    Notting

we use http://www.newzapp.co.uk for our email marketing. it's UK based so not sure if you it's useful if you are in the US...?

we found our hosting wasn't very happy with us sending out thousands of emails each newsletter!

Better to find a company with good feedback.

Some of the dodgy ones can fry your whole mailling list by being blocked by certain providers and ISPs. If you have a bit of a budget check out habeas.com. Not an email marketing company but will add your selected IP to isp white lists.

You can use GA by adding a tracking URL to the end of all your newsletter links and set up the campaign in GA. ALternatively you can write your own tracking and use hidden images run as scripts to keep track of who is doing what.

    Hope this helps :)
