Also, make your messages short and to the point - and I think it's best to only include ONE call to action in each email - you can have two or three links spread through the email, but just the one call to action - otherwise you just end up confusing people. Another good trick to get your messages noticed is to make your name really noticeable when it appears in their in-box, by putting dashes or asterixes either side of it - that makes it stand out.
