Hello all, I was recently contacted by an ad company regarding an offer to promote my product through an email campaign. Forgive my ignorance but this is a form of advertising I am not familiar with and need some help from any of you who has tried it. Their introductory offer is something like $150 for a 100K list. They claim to loose money and it's only for me to try their services. After some search, I found out that the company is relatively known (small to medium) and has been around for the last 2-3 years. But all the comments were positive regarding their affiliates, none from advertisers, especially for email campaigns. Should I go for it? Is this something that can bring results? Any help/suggestions/feedback would be appreciated.
Some do work. The only way to know for sure is to try it, and or do a search on their name for any comments on them. What is the name of this "company"?
Sounds fishy, I wouldn't deal with sending mail to anyone who hasn't double opted in to receive information from you directly.
Which ad company is that? Did you contact them in the first place? If they had come to you without you first opting for it, it seems like SPAM to me.
Emailing camping like that usually only work if the opt-ins are fresh, meaning they just opted-in for your product or service that day. To get good response from email marketing your best bet is to use a company like aweber and collect your own opt in leads. Co-reg programs also work very well. Good luck.
I agree with John -- opt-ins that aren't yours generally won't work when promoting products and the like. If you're still considering trying it out I'd first contact them and ask for more information of the list they have. Things like open, delete and unsubscribe rates all help to determine whether it's a list worth emailing.
Email marketing is good only if you are promoting a specific products. But if you want to build a network of visitors (I mean subscribers), email marketing is not good... I consider this strategy DEAD.
I'm not a fan of email marketing at all. Unless you are sending out a newsletter to members who have given "you" permission to do so I wouldn't advise it.
I agree with the above poster. If a person has opted to receive a newsletter, it shows that they have some degree of interest. By sending out a newsletter to a random group of people, the results are far less predictable, and the level of response will probably be lower. Aim for those who have shown some interest in you / your product / similar sites.
Beware. Most mailers run CPA ads and make nice profit. If they can't profit enough on CPA, they'll farm it out like the offer you got. Their list is probably low-response.
If they are going to loose money so why...and why for you??? And the only comments are from the affiliates and not the advertisers... Read between the lines and try to do some more research.
Most of these email marketers are scam. They collect emails in not legal ways. Its always best if you build your own subscription list.
I have a Poker Related Email list of over 32,000 emails ... On a site ( Poker/Gaming Related ) . I can give you this entire list ... Since i will not be using it .. I hope this is legal The Poker site is closed , and i have no use in it
