Starting with Black hat email marketing : You start with extract emails from web sites with any email extractors tools , some people do the following : 1- Extract emails from hard drive / outlook or emails programs that you have. You need software to do that extracting emails feature. 2- Email Verifier to verified the emails if its valid and correct some people don't care to do it but they have to take much time of sending for not useless emails or already dead emails. 3- Email Bulk sender to send huge amount of emails. What else do i miss .. nothing.. there is more software to do tricks but its not matter this is the basics .. White hat : This more effective because you sending to your white list , you just create service or website or email list and send to people who subscribe or have manually accept to receive emails from you by sign in newsletter or website service or email list.
