Is it worth it to buy an email list to send a newsletter to? Does that bring traffic?

If the list is not your own personal "opt-in" list then chances are that is considered "spam". Some people have actually gone to prison over that sort of thing so I would be very careful if I were you.

Do you have an email address? Have you ever visited the site of any of those peoples, sending you their "newsletters"? Bought something there?

/me shakes head, seeing such a question from someone using spaces in his forum signature to confuse spambots trying to harvest addresses.

If you want to get into "email marketing" with a list that isn't yours then your best bet is to buy a "Solo Ad" which is basically an ad of your business that somebody includes in their email or ezine they send out to their "opt-in" subscribers.

Its a great way to get traffic and sales as long as its your personal optin list. These days when sending an email to the list you have to add your postall address at the end, to ensure its not spam.

I would not ever buy a list and send e-mail to it to get traffic. Most of those people on the list would have no idea who you are and would never go to your site.

If it is an opt-in list you created, then by all means go ahead and do it! That can be great to generate some traffic to a site.

Search Google for "buy solo ads" and you should find a few websites that will hook you up.

What would you do if you received a "spam" email of some random website?

    that is so not true!

email list is not traffic.. actually it's nothing if it's not yours and you don't have a relationship with it..

jeff walker once said this in a seminar, that "let's say if were to you give you a list of 100,000 leads what would you give me?" and this guy stands up and says "probably like $10K".. after which jeff throws him this huge yellow pages book and says "there you go, i believe you owe me 10k." .. lol

First, you need a hungry market. For example the "dog niche" :).
Second, you need to make sure there are money to be made!
Third, you need an squeeze page to capture leads. You can take a look at my squeeze page here: http://hiddenshadow.info/traffic/

    Good luck,
    Amund.

    1. Did anyone had a successful experience?
    2. Did anyone had a bad one?

    What were they?

Buying email lists from others is a terrible way to get traffic, and depending on how you do it can be illegal. The only way it works if you have a website that has an optional opt in email list people can sign up for.

I would also consider Solo Ads as an acceptable and "legal" form of email marketing.

It can bring some traffic but it's very unethical and it's considered as spamming.
