So basically I've been collecting a list of people who are interested in changing their jobs or finding a job. My list consists of around 2000-3000 people. How much do these types of list sell for? Or how can I possibly make money off of it.

you will make more money keeping it yourself and promote campaigns target to their specific needs. Since you know exactly what they're looking for.

    1. use a newsletter mailing service
    2. find campaigns target to your list (ex. resume writing service, monster.com affiliate program, etc.)
    3. track and optimized your campaigns

    Good luck

Don't sell the list, Grow it. When you have a substantually larger list, use it to market online job ads, preferably CPA ads formatted for email delivery.

Frankly, with unemployment rising in every country, and set to reach record levels, I don't think people looking for a job are very hard to find.

Right, that's exactly why I told him to grow and use his list, not sell it.

I don't think he was looking to sell it on Digital Point... But in any case, he probably doesn't know what a good opt-in list can do for him.
