I need to off load some spam to a box via mx record. Basically you would reject all email except from a handful of emails address. This requires the hosting service to have a spam box on the perimeter of their network which would reject the messages before handing it off to the mail server. (You may have a different way of dealing with it).

I get lots of spam on this particular domain because it use to host free email address which has been discontinued. Please send your offers via PM.

    Thanks,

Maybe a better solution is to use google apps free mail service? You can have up to 5GB per mailbox with their free solution and it can handle your mail. I helped a company migrate to this solution recently and the amount of spam being received now is almost 0.

Good point hawk, this might be the best solution as it would be free... Otherwise i'm sure some hosts/providers would work with you on setting up a forwarder/address that blocks all email but the one's specified (whitelist). Most control panel filters won't have this extended functionality.

The host may have to configure additional parameters on their industrial spam filter (hardware level)

Thanks for the suggestion about using Gmail for domains. I am already using that for many of my sites and it works perfect, but the particular domain that I need help with is not acceptable to be used with Gmail for domains for some reason, so they will not accept the domain that I need help with.

If I was allowed to use Gmail for domains I would jump on it, but they won't let me so I am seeking alternatives.

    Thanks,
